Financial Infidelity

Financial Infidelity

There is a form of infidelity that has become rampant, and it doesn’t require actual cheating. Its financial infidelity and according to recent studies almost half of our population may be committing it. Unlike physical and emotional infidelity it doesn’t require a spouse to be having an affair with another person. However, this form of infidelity does have some of the same trademarks. Financial infidelity is the act of holding bank accounts or stashes of money, spending money, possessing credit cards, or otherwise incurring debt and keeping it a secret from one’s spouse or partner.

Much like physical and emotional infidelity the act of hiding money or spending habits is often done because of a lack of trust in the relationship. Financial infidelity usually starts when partners have different money management styles. Where one partner may constantly want to save money, the other may be a compulsive spender. When layered onto disproportionate earnings between partners, money can become a hot topic and when conversations hit a standoff one of the partners may resort to financial infidelity.

Some of the warning signs of financial infidelity may include:

  • Not seeing copies of the bills each month and when asked your partner constantly has a reason why they aren’t available
  • Your partner insisting on maintaining a separate bank account and not allowing you access or confiding in you how much the bank account contains
  • Receipts for items that list a different amount from what your partner told you the item cost
  • Your partner shutting down or becoming defensive whenever finances are brought up
  • Coming across a stash of money that you don’t know the origin of
  • Discovering your partner has a bank account they have never mentioned

They Cheated: Now What?

They Cheated: Now What?

“My spouse cheated on me.” Typing those words into a search engine can be an almost surreal experience. Even odder is that the phrase tried to auto fill. Cheating is now considered almost a common place event in our society, but that doesn’t mean we know what to do now. So finally the truth came out, so now what?

After cheating comes to light there are a multitude of avenues to take, and each couple needs to decide for themselves. The first option being an end to the relationship with one or both parties determining the relationship will not be continued. This can be in the form of a separation or directly to divorce.

The second option is a bit broader. Sometimes revelation of cheating can act as a catalyst for the relationship to evolve. While the relationship may not be the same, acknowledging what was lacking can help the relationship move forward.

Regardless of which option you choose consider using some of the steps below:

  • Take an action of not taking action: In the heat of the moment after an affair has come to light it can be easy to deliver ultimatums or other extreme courses of action. These provide a temporary feeling of comfort, but once the extreme emotions have dwindled may lead to less opportunities or regret over the actions taken. Start with the smaller decisions.
  • Handle logistics: Make sure the day to day logistics are handled. If you have children, make sure their rides and activities are covered. In the time after the acknowledgement of cheating you may be distracted, irritable, depressed or even emotionally shut down. Don’t let this prevent you from making sure your day to day life is still on schedule.
  • Create a support network: Reach out to those you trust, you may even consider a therapist for one or both of you. Your support network can help handle logistics, provide an ear to listen when you are ready to talk, and provide emotional support during the process.
  • Don’t hide from the truth: Acknowledging the cheating can be an emotional and painful process, but it’s important not to try and sweep it back under the rug. Ask questions, as much as the answers may hurt it can help show what led to the cheating in the first place.

Emotional Infidelity

Emotional Infidelity

As a society we have a generally understood definition of cheating. That definition involves a physical betrayal. Recent statistics suggest as many as 60% of married individuals will at some point in their marriage engage in a physical act of infidelity. These numbers may be on the conservative side as more opportunities for infidelity are becoming available. As more women enter the workforce the opportunities for office romances increase. Additionally, modern technology allows contact to be made without alerting the spouse’s suspicions. Visits to chat rooms, sending private e-mails, even texting allow parties to contact each other discreetly. Eventually though this form of cheating leads to physical encounters. The physical encounter can serve as a concrete understanding cheating has occurred.

Yet, there is another form of cheating: emotional infidelity. It is generally agreed upon that emotional infidelity involves forming and fostering emotional intimacy that can promote the possibility of sexual intimacy at some point in the relationship. However, this is not the primary focus of the relationship from the beginning. The other party may be there as a confidant, someone to join on adventures with, or even a supportive friend. Outwardly, a relationship of this nature is not a threat to a marriage, but what about when the spouse doesn’t divulge all the encounters?

Emotional infidelity is so much more difficult to track because the basis for the relationship is non sexual, meaning opportunities to detect the infidelity are much fewer. The damage caused by emotional infidelity doesn’t wait until the relationship has become sexual, it appears much earlier. A majority of spouses have a friend they don’t always mention spending time with. Even this seemingly minor transgression can start to plant seeds of doubt and begin to dismantle a relationship. Even though the encounters may not have been sexual, the secrecy can cause the spouse to have doubts about their partner’s loyalty.

It is incredibly difficult to determine when an emotionally platonic relationship turns into emotional infidelity. If you feel like your spouse is hiding things or have begun to question their loyalty it may be time to find out the truth.

How does one cheat and have no guilt about it?

How does one cheat and have no guilt about it?

There is a small number of the population that never experience guilt when committing the act. A larger majority of people feel the sting of their conscience, however their mental defenses block-out the guilty feelings.
People will resort to blaming, victim thoughts, minimizing their actions, rationalizing, or plain denial as a method to justify their actions and push away the guilty conscience. If there is resentment toward their partner justifying their actions by thinking their partner deserves it. If they have committed to an affair for a long period of time, their heart has likely hardened to the behavior and they don’t feel as guilty.
The lack of remorse doesn’t constitute a lack of conscience. It is an indication that they have thought to the point of justifying what they’ve done in an effort to avoid taking responsibility for their lack of accomplishment in their relationship or marriage.

WHAT were you THINKING??!!!

Sad to say, if they had thought it through and considered the impact of their actions, there is a greater chance they never would have committed the affair. I can’t tell you how many stories I’ve heard from both men and women that say if they had known the consequences of their actions before they had acted, then they would have never done it! I think few people consciously way all the costs when they act out. For your sake and theirs, I wish they’d been thinking. There would be far less business for me, but the world would be in better relationships.

What to expect with computer monitoring software

What to expect with computer monitoring software

Computer monitoring software can be a valuable tool in an investigation whether it is a cheating spouse or an employee who may be stealing. Monitoring software is not that hard to install however finding the best software may be somewhat of a challenge if you do not know what or where to search.
The best software will include a range of useful tools that will help you covertly monitor a computers browsed websites, keyboard strokes entered, capture chat session, instant messaging , usernames and passwords and much more. Most basic software will come with standard monitoring but will not have a feature for blocking or filtering content. This can be a very useful feature especially if you do not want certain people, like children, browsing to specific websites.
One of the most important features to have in your software is detailed reporting. You will want this so that you can organize the content that you are monitoring. There are a few systems out there that will send automated reports to your email and others that will allow you to access a reporting function from a website. You will also want to make sure your software has a solid help and support team with a great website for resources and FAQ’s.
With computer and internet use at an all time high you will want and need some protection so that you may have peace of mind from all of the “what if” factors. Calling a Private Investigator is extremely helpful in the process of computer monitoring. A private investigator can offer great advice on available software systems. Make sure to ask questions and do some investigating of your own to find the right system for your needs.

A brief guide to Alimony

A brief guide to Alimony

Divorce can be daunting and scary or it can be freeing and liberating however one thing that will always remain the same is how to divide assets and custody of your children if you have them.  It may seem like things are equal when you end things however more often than not one person is always stuck living a life that is not up to par with how they were used to living while they were married.

The reason behind alimony in most divorce courts stems from one spouse sacrificing certain things to contribute to the earning potential for the other.  For example if one spouse helps support the other through college it will make their earning potential greater when they are finished with the schooling.

In general alimony is not granted as a punishment but instead given to one of the parties because of a perceived inequity in the results of a marriage.

The more that you are educated about alimony payments the better you will be able to handle an agreement in the time of a settlement.  Divorce is a difficult and emotional situation and having the proper information may save you from months of hardship after a divorce. Make sure that you are ready to fight for what you deserve.

Online Investigation Techniques that Professional Private Investigators Use

Online Investigation Techniques that Professional Private Investigators Use

If you are wondering what you can do or who you can find to help with an online investigation then look no further.  This article explains some of the simple online techniques that professional private investigators use to track down their targets of investigation.

Some of the key points we will highlight consist of finding a person’s online alias, digging into profiles, pictures and leveraging the internet space to help uncover files and setting up real-time systems to get notifications about a targets online activity.

Data mining is a method that is often used by spam bot’s to guess email addresses but can be a valuable resource for investigating online. People will use nicknames for their online screen names and, more often than not, this screen name will be the same as their email.  An investigator will try sending a test message to this email and if it does not bounce back it is flagged as an email lead.  Links like “forgot password” often time provide pathways for trapping an email address. Have you ever received an email about changing your password? Hmm, if so, someone could be trying to verify your email address.

Reverse image tracking is another tool in the arsenal bag that has been proven effective by professionals.  All that is needed is a person’s name and you can find out what type of websites they visit and how often.  This is done by finding a person’s profile picture on a related site and comparing the picture using a site like tineye.com to generate an image site wide check.  Often cell phones geo target pictures as well making it fairly easy to find where that person is either located or has traveled.

Picture fishing is a way to gain photos from a target.  This can be done by means of a fictitious profile set up on an online or social media site.  Just simply set up an account.

File search can be one of the most effective methods in retrieving valuable information about a target.  Google offers a special search operator which shows files stored on uncovered servers.  To implement this type of search type the following command in Google.com intitle:”index of” “parent directory” Jon Doe.  Jon Doe should be replaced with the alias or name of the person you are looking for.  This technique is known as Advanced Google Search Operator.

Did you know that Google can be set up to alert you when a name of your choice appears in a forum or post and Google will send you an email of their activity?  Simply navigate to Google.com/alerts and start tracking.

I hope this information is useful for you and will help you on your pursuit of whoever you are looking for.  Try some or all of these techniques and you will find some great results.  Happy hunting.

Save it with Integrity or End it with Dignity

Save it with Integrity or End it with Dignity

According to the General Social Survey (GSS) taken from 1972-2006, more than 18% of respondents said they had sex with someone other than their spouse while married. That’s almost a full fifth of married couples – and that’s the only ones who admitted it!

If you’re married, then you know that marriage is one of the greatest challenges of all time. Don’t believe me? Look at the statistics: over half of marriages in the United States end in divorce!

And unfortunately, one of the top reasons for these divorces is this infidelity, with a cheating spouse being listed as the reason for splitting up by 55% of couples. Someone finds out their spouse is cheating on them, and, in their hurt and rage, they want to take vengeance.

However, this hurts everyone, including the person initiating the divorce. But there is another way.

Private Investigators can Uncover a Cheating Spouse

In cases where a one spouse suspects the other of cheating, the best thing to do is often to hire a private investigator or detective who specializes in adultery. You can find them on the web, or through agencies like The Pi Agency (https://thepiagency.com). This way, the spouse can get real proof of the other’s adultery – or lack thereof.

Why is this important?

As we mentioned, one of the most common reactions to finding out that your spouse is cheating on you is to experience hurt, rage, and pain. If you find this out suddenly, on your own, or if you let it fester without any concrete proof, it is more likely to impact your judgment.

If you use a private detective, on the other hand, you will find out in the company of another person – one who is unbiased, and who is used to dealing with these sorts of situations. They can provide you with excellent advice to keep calm and maintain your integrity and dignity as you choose whether or not to end the relationship, and what to do from there.

Festering Doubts About your Spouse

Private investigators are especially useful in a case where you only suspect that your spouse is cheating on you. The longer you let these doubts fester inside you, the more rage and distance you are building up. In fact, even if your spouse is not cheating, suspecting it for too long can destroy your marriage!

By hiring a private detective to investigate the matter, you can put your doubts to rest, one way or the other. This will spare you a great deal of pain, both immediately (as you question your spouse’s fidelity) and in the long run (if you must deal with the consequences of a cheating spouse).

Save it with Integrity or End it with Dignity

Ultimately, marriage is a very personal thing. Only you can decide what is right for you and your spouse. But if you plan on saving your marriage and forgiving your spouse, or ending it and keeping your dignity intact, a private investigator can be extremely helpful.

What to Expect When Hiring a Private Investigator

What to Expect When Hiring a Private Investigator

Have you ever asked yourself, what value is there to gain from hiring a private investigator? Where do you start the conversation and how much information do I tell them? Is a private investigator really going to understand my situation? Does a private investigator go home from work telling family and friends about my personal problems?

From the time we answer the call, all communication is confidential. How can you be sure, you ask? For starters, private investigators build their reputation based on three things: 1) Integrity – not even God can change a person’s integrity. It’s one of the only things that a person has self control of; it takes a career to build and maintain and one stupid act of betrayal to destroy it, forever. On the other hand, most states have an office of authority that regulates the private investigation profession and you can file a complaint with them whenever you feel a private investigator has performed unethically. 2) Reliability – can they deliver what they promise; do they show up when they’re suppose to; are they available when you need access to them? 3) Results – probably the most important of the three. Providing the private investigator you have chosen has been in the profession for some time, they likely to be trustworthy anyway. At the end of the day, if your investigator has accomplished the necessary objectives that help you attain the legal or relationship goals you set out to achieve within a specified budget, I would call it success.

Now, I made this sound easy and simple but there are a lot of details in between and I mean a lot. However, a great private investigator will carry most of this burden for you. You see, private investigators come in all shapes and sizes, backgrounds and experience, contacts and sources. There is a “One Size Fits All” but you are likely to be less satisfied than with the one that specializes in your area of need. What is a specialist anyway? Some are those that concentrate in a specific area like criminal defense, vehicle accident reconstruction, fire arson or cheating spouse.  Private investigators also have a diversified background. Not all PI’s are ex-cops or retired law enforcement. Personally, I have a background in aeronautical engineering and low-voltage security integration. My grandfather was a sheriff for 15 years, maybe that’s where I get my interest but paying attention to detail and being process oriented is from building aircraft. Every private investigator is different and all are essential to their respective calling. The bottom line is to find the one that best identifies with your unique situation and has a trained, experienced focus in the area of your specific interest and you will have found a qualified private investigator candidate.

This is a great checklist of what to expect from a private investigator and the private investigation agency you considering to retain:

  1. Call our office and a licensed private investigator will take note as you explain your unique situation of your case.  Our private investigator will make sure to ask all the correct questions so we know exactly what your goals and needs are for the best outcome.
  2. We will take the time to brainstorm and come up with a strategy for the investigation. We will keep you well informed so that you will know exactly how we plan to investigate the situation. There are a variety of techniques we can use, including but not limited to, surveillance, Background Checks, Witness testimonies, vehicle tracking and DNA testing.
  3. Action is the name of the game. Next, we will put the plan into place. We cannot guarantee the outcome of the investigation because we can’t predict what your subject is going to do. However, we can control what we do and when to execute.  The key to success is being prepared and identifying times of opportunity.
  4. Striving for thorough communication during the investigation is critical to the success of any case. It is also essential in keeping clients satisfied and secure. Keeping the lines of communication open with clients to allow them know when each milestone is met will provide them with the confidence that progress is being made and they are gaining control of their critical situation. It is also very important to allow the clients to contact the field agents while they or on the job.  A close communication is a vast benefit in leading to a thriving investigation.
  5. Finally the investigator will produce an informed detailed written professional report. This report will be the final product created at the end of an investigation. A well written report that can hold up in court and document everything as well as organize the evidence is what often makes or breaks a case. A well organized report most often creates an environment for the opposing partner to settle without ever going to court –“Best Case Outcome”
